FACT SHEET SURROUNDING FATAL SHOOTING OF IMAM LUQMAN AMEEN ABDULLAH BY FBI AGENTS ON 10.28.09

No member of Imam Abdullah’s mosque including himself was charged with terrorism related activities, treason, or incitement of treason despite the provocative language in the federal criminal affidavit stating that they planned to overthrown the government and establish Islamic law.

After over two years of monitoring of Abdullah’s mosque by three FBI confidential informants, the informants apparently introduced a criminal enterprise that was not ongoing in the mosque.  Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox’s report on the fatal shooting of Imam Abdullah states that informants were sent into the mosque “to provide opportunities for anyone interested to participate in the theft of, and later in selling goods they believe have been stolen.”

Sixty-six law enforcement agents ranging from the FBI and Dearborn Police to U.S. Border Patrol and Immigration Customs Enforcement executed the raid in which Abdullah was killed.  The raid was in a warehouse where Imam Abdullah and two other individuals who were born in America were allegedly moving “stolen” televisions that were paid for by the FBI.

Imam Abdullah, who laid on his stomach face down upon the command of agents had an FBI attack dog unleashed on him.  The dog attacked him biting his upper body and face when Imam Abdullah, according to reports shot the dog three times in the neck, at virtual point blank range in apparent self defense.

According to Michigan State Attorney General Mike Cox’s report, law enforcement agents were briefed not to shot Imam Abdullah if he shot the FBI attack dog.

Imam Abdullah was shot no less than twenty times including in the back.  Michigan State Attorney General Mike Cox’s report gives no explanation as to how Imam Abdullah was shot in the back.

The primary eye witnesses in Michigan Attorney General Cox’s report to Imam Abdullah’s behavior at the time of being shot were the four FBI agents that committed the fatal shooting.  Two associates of Imam Abdullah were unable to provide testimony for the report because their attorneys advised them not to comment since they are facing federal criminal charges.

The FBI hidden surveillance camera in the trailer at the warehouse, which could have shown Imam Abdullah potentially shooting the dog and himself being shot was partially block by a pallet moved in front of it by Imam Abdullah’s associates according to Michigan Attorney General Cox’s report.
